Erryn was seventeen when she and her older sister escapes the oppression that held them to endure experiments under the order of a greedy ruler, King Vladimir. Although, their escape was successful, an explosion not only gains them distance from the king, but it also separates the sisters, leaving Erryn alone.
After six months pass, Erryn lives further in the woods afraid to venture out where Vladimir could find her, until a friend that she's come to trust shares an uplifting possibility of her sister being alive. Although, the terror of recapture weighs heavy on her day and night the heart-breaking idea of not acting on the rumor if indeed true, seems unbearable.
She'll have to watch her back, learning who she can and can't trust in the search for her sister as a calling from a temple not heard by anyone in at least a decade chooses her.
